No matter how many new Novels & Stories published every day, but the Folktales, Stories from Panchatantra, Tales of Kings & Kingdoms, lives on & on, Forever.

You must have also heard those stories from your grandparents or you have read them in comics or Textbooks sometimes.

These stories never get old & you can never get bored of them. These two books (The Wise Parrot, The Elephant and The Cassowary) are full of these kinds of stories which are written and compiled by Ruskin Bond.

Book Review The Wise Parrot – This book consists of 20 best short stories like Sindbad The Sailor, Jivaka The Boy Wonder, Shakuntala, Seven Brides for Seven Princes and of course The Wise Parrot.

Every story is Short and Sweet but I personally liked the Seven Brides for Seven Princes

In this story, there are seven princes. When they came of the age to get married, they were asked to fire an arrow in any direction and where the arrow hit they have to marry the girl of that kingdom.

All six brothers get beautiful and intelligent wives except the youngest Prince. His arrow hits a tree where a monkey lives.

The prince took the monkey as a pet and refused to marry any other girl. But he soon realised that the monkey is a Princess of fairy, who is testing his compassion and patience.

Book Review The Elephant and The Cassowary – Like, The Wise Parrot this book also contains 12 short stories from different backgrounds & writers which were compiled by Ruskin Bond.

The common thing between all of them is The Jungle & its Animals. The book has two stories from Rudyard Kipling, writer of The Jungle Book.

And some personal experiences of writers with animals and Jungle, like The Falcon and I and Hunting with Camera.

The Elephant and The Cassowary is written by Ruskin Bond. The story of two different animals that lived in the writer’s backyard. And how both of them explore each other.

Why Should You Read:

Not every time you want to read a thriller novel, its time to enjoy your childhood memories. I personally enjoyed it. Best for children
