Book Review The Immortals of Meluha

The Immortals of Meluha is the first book of Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi. I will say he is one of the finest writers in this modern era. He has everything in this first book of Shiva Trilogy. This book includes Fiction, Mythology and a little crunch/crisp of Science.

This book tells the story about Meluha. Usually, we know Meluha as Indus Valley Civilization. It is said that Meluha was a near perfect empire created many centuries ago by Lord Ram. One of the greatest Kings that ever lived.

The rulers of Meluha who are known as Suryavanshis, are facing some major problems in their empire. The major problem is their revered river named Saraswati is drying to extinction. They’re facing terrorist attacks from their east region that is called Chandravanshi’s land.
Suryavanshis believe that their enemy Chandravanshis, are using Nagas as their most lethal weapon. Nagas are ostracised and sinister race of deformed humans having great martial skills.

Suryavanshis are great warriors but still they believe in ancient legends. when evil reaches epic proportions, when all seems lost, when it appears that your enemies have triumphed, a Hero will emerge and become their saviour.
Now an immigrant Shiva enters in the Meluha city. Is he the same hero that ancient legend was talking about? Will Shiva lead them, (Suryavanshis) and take a stand against evil? Will he be ready to make sacrifices for his duty and his love?

Favourite Quotes:

” Whether a Man is Legend or not is decided by History, not Fortune tellers.”
” Any philosophy no matter how perfect works only for a finite period.”

Why should Read:

I can’t give you any reason to read this book. I don’t have words for this first part of a masterpiece named as Shiva Trilogy, written by Amish Tripathi.

People say that he is Indian Paul Coelho but I will say he is the First Amish Tripathi in the world of writers. Well, this is just the first part of his masterpiece Shiva Trilogy and I must say that he has added all the flavours in his writing.
This book has Fiction, Mythology, and Science. I’m telling you the science given in this book is unknown to most of us. This shows how rich Meluhans were from the views of Science. How much respect, they had for their traditional beliefs.

It also shows the visions of Lord Ram towards the society and his great kingdom and why he is called to be one of the greatest monarch lived ever.
